Wild Critters

I have more videos to show you this week!  These involve critters.  It was too dark to get a good video so Mom just took a photo.  This bear had been headed for the deck around back until Gabriel started barking and Mom opened the back door and scared him off.  He turned around and headed back down the ramp.  She got this photo through the window from another bedroom. . . .

Mom puts up a bird feeder every winter in one of the windows, only more than birds visit it.  I get all excited when the birds visit and Gabriel gets all excited when the squirrels visit. . . .

One summer while sitting in the window this Redtail Hawk visited.  I'm glad I was not outside. . . .

We also get this fellow crossing through our yard from the woods from time to time.  This was taken by Dad's wildlife camera at night.  That's a dead skunk we'd found earlier and left there hoping one of the critters would dispose of it for us.   I told Gabriel this is a good reason to stay indoors at night. . . .

Then there are tame creatures that get Gabriel's attention.  Once he was even barking at a turtle in the front yard.  He doesn't let anything get past him. . . .

Until we meet again,

    1. I do like to go out onto the screened-in porch at night and watch the fireflies in the summer and listen to the frogs in the pond.
